This summer we had the privilege of sending 8 teens from the Sidewalk Funday School ministry to youth camp with First Baptist Church. We sent 2 students to High School camp and 6 students to Middle School camp. We are so thankful to the generous individuals who provided camp scholarships and we were overwhelmed with joy when First Baptist Church selected our ministry to be the mission focus for offerings brought by the children during their week of Vacation Bible school! What a sweet Blessing! We were able to sponsor all the students to attend as well as purchase some personal items needed for camp allowing these students to get away for a week and focus on Jesus Christ.
It was an amazing week of games, making new friends and Bible study that will impact their lives for eternity. The kids had daily lessons in the morning and evening chapel services. This year’s theme for camp was “Transplant” and was based on Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
The students learned what it means to have a new heart given to them through Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross for them. Only Christ can truly change their heart and make them new on the inside.
Two of our middle school students gave their hearts to Jesus during camp and we praise God for this! We are so thankful for all that God did in the lives of these students during this week at camp. #FundaySchoolJax
